Artist Biography
my art lives at the intersection of emotion and elation. i am inspired to create pieces we can connect to internally and bring us into a world that feels familiar but also full of intrigue and wonder. before stepping into my painted world, i spend time meditating and writing poetry to bring myself to a place of raw vulnerability. this allows me to piece together visions of the intangible emotions we feel in our beating hearts and weary bones by painting colors onto surfaces until they become alive and completely tangible.
growing up i always felt odd and out of place.this allowed me to appreciate things that were not so ordinary or visibly lovely. you can see this through the art i create. i play with surrealism and use various techniques to allow the viewer to connect and empathize with peculiar ideas.
my hope for anyone who steps into my poetically painted universe is that they walk away feeling encouraged. encouraged to think from a different perspective. encouraged to ask questions and be okay with not having all the answers. encouraged to be brave. encouraged to believe in who you are. ultimately... encouraged to love… to love others who might be different from you... and to love yourself.
