Artist Statement
My paintings are an invitation to intimately examine the loud, complicated messiness of life. I use bold colors, contrasting textures, & scale to explore race, gender, and fragility.
My work evokes the familiar feelings of childhood to transport viewers back to when they were fully accepting of themselves to encourage them to accept others.
Myriah’s work was featured in our Spring 2021 Group Exhibition, on view March 5 - August 1, 2021.
